Dr. K.A. Paul GPI conducted Global Peace Rally






After the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the U.S., Dr. Paul and GPI planned and conducted the first-of-its-kind Global Peace Rally and International Day of Prayer. The worldwide event was held on November 3, 2001 in Nairobi, Kenya. American entertainer John Tesh performed in Lagos, Nigeria and GPI President, Dr. K.A. Paul delivered a message to an announced attendance of over 3 million persons gathered.

In addition, millions of people around the world witnessed the event on television as several African Presidents and Prime Ministers as well as leaders of all faiths joined in the event. More than 30 networks worldwide carried the broadcast. With only one week’s notice, then Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee spearheaded an effort for GPI that garnered the support for this event from 48 of the U.S. Governors
